A baby was strapped to my back as the other crawled in the playpen. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and removing wallpaper, with one child. Ha! We were getting closer to completing, however we were a long way off. The house would need a great deal of effort as well as a passion for shopping. To keep the cost within my means I took my kids with me to look for gems hidden in estate sales. We would go from between Thursday and Saturday in garage sales and estate sales, buying old and new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed in the driveway throughout the week. The furniture I found looked like... that's when my passion to restore furniture was born. Although our house had been decorated, I was unable to stop. On the streets, I rented a small space, and also sold pieces. There were lots of pieces, I didn't think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. More than 1000 people came to my home in just one weekend, to shop for everything that was on the ground. My venture Growing Days began here. My company was flourishing, but my family was also growing. I was trying to find that perfect balance between what it took to start a new business while also being a mommy. Growing Days just fit. In 2013, my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. My company was doing well but I was in need of a break. I decided to take a break from creating vintage furniture and I slowed down my speed and stayed at home to take care of the kids. At the time, it was exactly what I needed. After several minutes. Calls came in asking me to help them with the interior design and renovations of their home. It was mostly those who visited my house for furniture. In the following time I began to take on customers in my own way. Soon I had several accounts and a home renovations business. There is a good chance that I'd have laughed had someone had told me the company was to become the basis for an upcoming tv program that airs on the DIY Network. It's funny to think back about it.
